Ridgetop Fire Department – Volunteers Serving the Community

The Ridgetop Fire Department was formed in 1981. From that humble beginning in a block building with a used military truck and an old Nashville fire engine the department has made tremendous progress.  The citizens of Ridgetop and the surrounding area are protected by modern equipment and highly trained volunteers. Our current insurance ISO rating is a 5. This rating puts our city and department in the upper 20% of all fire districts in the country.

The department currently has 18 members with various degrees of specialties including EMT’s and first responders for medical calls and multiple firefighters with the FireFighter 1 designation. The department trains at least 2 times per month and many months train 3 to 4 times. Each member of the department averages more that 144 hours per year of training. The department typically answers between 250 and 300 calls for help each year. We also provide automatic mutual aid to the City of Greenbrier  fire department and the  White House Volunteer Fire Department and provide aid to other departments upon request.

The Chief of the Ridgetop Fire Department is Tony Reasoner. He is one of the founding members of the department and has served as chief for many years. If you have any questions about the department or are interested in becoming involved in the department you can contact Chief Reasoner at (615) 851-4570.
